busy bees....its may!

With work, school, tile, coaching, dance class, swim lessons (trying to get some friend time, exercise time etc) and all the details in between....we are surely busy! Maya is sprouting. She looks especially tall to me these days and today, while driving to dance class, our whole trip was spent talking about words that rhyme and how words sound or don't sound similar. She just goes through spurts where she just seems older all of a sudden. We are in one now, for sure. She is still into Fresh Beat, singing and dancing all the time, shes getting pretty good at matching/memory games, and at the park is really into practicing the monkey bars. We celebrated Josh's birthday, have had a couple of nice date nights, our big family Passover seder and lots of Maya fun. Although she took a 3 day break from the Fresh Beat Band shirts (she had worn them 45 days!) They are back on (who knows how long this run will be...!) Here are some recent pics:

36 days later and M's still got the green Fresh Beat Band shirt on. Dont be fooled by the photo's you see where she is wearing her purple Kiki and Marina shirt- the green one is right under that one. Funny that we bought a second FBB shirt thinking she would rotate them from day to day....now they are both on. Go for it girl.

Fresh Beat Band

The Fresh Beat concert was amazing. Maya, so excited, wanted to make sure to pack an extra Kiki skirt "just in case Kiki needs one" and of course, wore hers (along with a thousand or so other girls there..) The concert definitely was a little shocking at 1st but she warmed up and was dancing right along to her favorite songs in no time. We had a special party package and so we sat in the 4th row and got to go to a special kid party after, where she got to meet the band (and sit on Kiki's lap!). It was a great show and a really fun experience.

Jan flew by and here we are- in the midst of Feb already! We had Maya's birthday, I took a trip to OC for a Bat Mitzvah and then we all went down to spend 6 days at Oma & Pap's house in Jan. I ran the Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon at Disney and the week was supposed to be full of play time and Maya's first Disney trip with the Heitman clan. We did go, I ran, we spent about 2 hours at the Magic Kingdom (Dumbo and Teacups were the favored rides).....and poor Maya Rose was a sick little bug. Rather than go back to the park we landed at the Dr's- a fever and a double ear infection made for a tough little vacation week but we're on the other side of it all now (thanks tlovest for everything.)

Tomorrow is the Fresh Beat Band concert and it has been all the talk here at our house. I hope its as good as it can be for her. She is fired-up to see them!

Maya turns 3!

We had a sweet little time at Laguna Park in Burlingame with family and just a couple of Maya's little pals. It was simple and just right. She was excited to see everyone, eat cupcakes, have balloons and run around at a park she loves. Here are some pics of our little 3 year old Munchkin:

Hanukkah!

Maya is saying some cute things lately; she often tells us "today my name is Julia," and she told us today that one of Josh's dance moves looked like a turkey. She ran into the office at school last week and yelled out "Look at my pumped up kicks" while showing my coworkers her sneakers.
She often mentions her many brothers and sisters that she has and how old they are (mostly 4 and 5) and she even mentioned that they lived "really far away in Seattle" not long ago.
She is definitely picking out her outfits each day, she is learning new games on her Leapster2 that she got for Hanukkah and is excited about lighting the menorah each night and practicing the blessings. She's about to be 3 and is excited! Fun stuff. XX
