Maya is saying some cute things lately; she often tells us "today my name is Julia," and she told us today that one of Josh's dance moves looked like a turkey. She ran into the office at school last week and yelled out "Look at my pumped up kicks" while showing my coworkers her sneakers.
She often mentions her many brothers and sisters that she has and how old they are (mostly 4 and 5) and she even mentioned that they lived "really far away in Seattle" not long ago.
She is definitely picking out her outfits each day, she is learning new games on her Leapster2 that she got for Hanukkah and is excited about lighting the menorah each night and practicing the blessings. She's about to be 3 and is excited! Fun stuff. XX
Happy Birds visited her school this last week- her hand shot up to volunteer:
Maya and Elise at the zoo (they look so serious but they were having, as always, lots of fun)
She is into playing tic tac toe these days
Maya and I went to the zoo 12/25 in the morning and were the 1st ones in. We had a great morning:

12.3..11
There is a lot of growing up happening here. We are turning the corner on birthday #3 and Miss Maya Rose is certainly seeming older.
Maya did really well at her first trip to the dentist, she is wearing underpants and is very into her sticker pages in the bathroom for doing such a great job, she had her 1st little class performance at school where they sang about 3 songs and we had lunch together and she is asking "WHY?" all the time. Her favorite game right now is hide and seek and my best little giggle from this last week:
- We've been saying things like "see ya later alligator" or "see ya soon baboon." Another one we recently learned is "chop chop lollipop" which of course is a big hit.
We were saying goodbye to Josh the other day and Maya said "chop chop sucker"
Here is one of the pics from her school photos taken in Nov...

Tootsie Pop
Maya chose to be a kitty cat for Halloween and its been very fun to see her in her costume for a week + (she loves that thing). We went to a Halloween party at Washington park on Sat and "paraded" down Burlingame Ave with lots of families. We also did a little trick-or-treating on Monday. She ate one piece of candy and loved every lick- the girl was into her Tootsie Pop (that is the one piece she chose!)
Maya seems to be going through a fun social growth spurt. She wants more independence at the park when we are there- running alone to most of the kids introducing herself and checking back in with me once in a while to report their names. I even caught a moment of her introducing two kids to each other at a friends house ( "Ethan, this is Gigi") It's so fun watching her grow.

It's Oct!
We made it to Tahoe for a few days to hang with the Heitman clan (thanks guys!)
We also got to celebrate Romi's 3rd birthday ( Maya's first go at a pinata!)
Maya is often found these days tapping around house (inspired by the Fresh Beat Band, of course) and that piano is one of her favorite toys right now
We are ready to welcome new baby Green any day now.....

1st week of preschool
We had a New Family Breakfast an Open House Day (parents and kids in the classroom) and then Maya's 1st official day of preschool at the PJCC this week. She did great! They got to a little outside play, movement, circle time, Shabbat and they even got to make challah. It was great to be working close by. I didnt peek in but the teachers would come by and let me know updates. The whole class did a good job and really had fun. Josh and I took her for ice cream as a treat that day too. We can hardly believe she's getting so big. Our hearts are proud, happy and full.

new baby boy friends
Seems like we have a lot of new baby boy friends this year. Almost everyone I know who's had a child in the last months- or will in the coming months, is having a boy (although Matt & Heather dont know the gender of their soon-arrival....if they are along with the trend- my bet is boy!) I've recently been able to visit a couple of them.
Here I am with little Taj (just 1 day old!)
And this past week Sarah and I met up to go visit little Wyatt in Eugene, OR (thanks for all the help everyone with Maya while I was gone!)
Maya is talking about starting school soon (this next week!) and we've been trying to play with a couple kids who will be in her class- hopefully they will be a nice familiar faces for those first days. I'm pretty sure she's gonna love it- just hard to believe she's starting preschool (3 days/wk) Here she is playing at (new friend) Evan's house - with (new pal) Olivia. She loves the trampoline they have- as you can imagine (check out her hair! and the skirt she has worn every day for 8 days straight!) :

8.5.11
2.5 years old. Yowza! At the end of August we head to our preschool new-family-breakfast and orientation....and then she will start Sept 2nd (3 days a week!) It's creeping right up on us. Its so hard to believe. It'll be a big transition for us but we think she will have a great time and really thrive.
She is VERY into her drums right now and her love for Fresh Beat Band is quite something. She's into playing her musical instruments, and her new ice cream and cookie/baking toys. As always, she is loving Little Gym and our regular visits to the zoo etc.
TlovesT is visiting which is always a good time. Maya is so excited to see them and play. Here are some recent photos:
Maya and Zane and then Maya in her "Kiki Skirt" (which she wears EVERY day :):

summer days
I went with Maya to get new shoes today. While I am glad we got her foot re-measured....it was quite an experience. Long gone are the days when I could pick out what I wanted her to have. She had a real opinion about what she liked and didnt like & what she would even try on. She is very decisive about her clothing these days as well. I would love for her to put on the denim overall dress but she wont have a thing to do with it. I would love for her to wear her Keen shoes- but she hasnt put them on, once. Way to go girlfriend! I am glad you know what you want!
Included on the list of wants these days is ice cream. Strawberry ice cream. It is summer, after all- who doesnt love a cone?

April showers bring...
April certainly did zoom by. It felt like we had plenty of rainy days and we are looking forward to some May sunshine (& flowers).
I had a girl weekend up in Seattle with Jess & Sarah which, of course, was awesome. Then we all headed to OC for Passover with Oma & Papa. It was so nice to have time at their house and Maya had a blast, of course. Each time we pass the airport (and as we all know, we drive by SFO pretty much every day) she talks about going on the plane to see them (precious.)
Here are a couple things Maya is really into at the moment: singing "If you are happy and you know it..," hiding something in one of her hands and then holding out her little fists and asking "which one?" as she wants you to guess a hand, riding on my shoulders & Dora.
Here is the Passover gang at Tlovest's house, including Grandma Minnie (99 years old!) who was so happy to see her Great Grandchildren. Maya loved singing the beginning of the 4 questions and finding the Afikomen. Yeah!
Maya also had her first little Egg hunt. Super cute day at the park with my Mommy group and the kids

Happy Bday JD!
Maya gets really excited about birthdays & the cupcakes, of course. Today is Josh's birthday and Maya and I had fun making cards and signs for him. She's been singing to him and was all wired from the pancake breakfast and cupcake she got to eat. Happy Happy Birthday! Much love JD!
A few other recent pics-
Maya is into the beads and making necklaces (read: rainy days here- good project!)
