birthday mama

I didn't intend for my birthday to become a multiple week celebration but it's turned out to be an eventful time.

Birthday lunch with Josh, a facial, cupcakes and then daily "happy birthday Mommy" singing from Maya, winning tickets to Cobbs Comedy club (and then actually going on a date night- thanks Leah!) and then some girl time this weekend all has surrounded the birthday cheer. My co-workers even took me out for bevies and the little details of cards, singing, generous gifts and emails from everyone has been so nice. I even head out to Chicago for a surprise birthday weekend in a few days (Shara & Josh- way to pull that one together! AMAZING!) Who knew #36 was gonna start out with so much fun? Thank you thank you thank you!

Thousands of flights are being cancelled around the country due to horrible weather, businesses are shut down, people are stranded (and cold)- and I feel a little guilty about this but mostly I just feel grateful....here are a couple shots from the beach this past week:

It's hard to believe that Maya was charting in the 3% for most of her 1st year. At her 1st year check up- she just weighed 18 pounds....she is now growing like a weed and is getting taller by the minute. These arent necessarily the best photos but I just feel like she looks like she got so much older. Hello 2.
