6 months!

Maya Rose is really getting the hang of sitting on her own, she loves to play peek-a-boo (where she is actually covering her face) and (dare I even write it....) is getting more sleep! We have embarked on teaching her some sleeping skills and she is doing a great job! (I know, you'd think babies would just sleep when they are tired- well, we've learned that's not the case!) So, we are feeling a bit more rested and refreshed around here. Time for some summer fun!

These are some things she loves right now: carrots, getting her tummy tickled, playing with blocks, walks (facing out to see everything), playing in front of a mirror, the swings, playing peek-a-boo under a blanket & hanging with other babies (she is totally into them and seems to be pretty social)...and while she is not crawling she is really good and scooting around and rolling everywhere!

Time is flying...

We are excited to have some time with Tom and Tracy this week (that's Oma and Gramps to little M.) They arrived in the Bay yesterday and we get to spend the next few days hanging out and playing with them along with Matt, Heather and cutie Romi, too. It's my Mom's birthday and we are happy to be able to spend it with her (Friday! She's a glorious 65!)

A couple weeks ago we started giving Maya rice cereal and for the most part, she likes it! She is also very close to sitting up, she is interested in pretty much everything- especially if we're holding it. She loves playing in her new exersaucer, she went to her 1st wedding (yeah Lisa and Tamir) & also celebrated her 1st Father's Day (xo Joshie.) AND this morning, we are pretty sure she gave us the sign for milk ( she pulled at my shirt and then gave us a little signing! Amazing!) She is turning the corner on 6 months and I can hardly believe time is flying by like this!

Maya is 5 months!

Our little lady is now 5 months old. Everyone always tells us that it goes so fast...and time truly is flying by. Maya, as you can see from the little video, had her 1st experience in the swing the other day. She liked it and it will be fun to add that to the park trips. She is continuing to chat a bunch and she is now grabbing for everything. She is so interested in touching everything in site, especially things we are holding. And then...everything goes in her mouth. She is working on sitting by herself...I bet in the next couple weeks she will be a sitting champ. Here are a couple shots from this week....

a big week....

Last week was a pretty big week. We took our 1st road trip to Orange County to visit TlovesT (that's Oma and Gramps to Maya). The 9 hour drive was a bit long but the visit was great! We had so much fun hanging out with them. Maya enjoyed being at their house, meeting lots of new people and she even got to meet her Great Grandma (Minnie is 97!) Josh and I also celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary & we got to have a really nice date at the hotel where we got married (thanks to TlovesT and babysitting!)Maya is turning the corner on 5 months and we can hardly believe it! Our giggly girl is getting so big. She's rolling over like a champ, pushing up on her arms, giggling without being tickled! and in general so alert and active. Now, only if she would sleep (wait....I've said that before!:)

Maya has some new talents; She likes to eat her little feet, she took her pacifier out of her mouth, held it and then put it BACK in her mouth on her own and....yesterday, for the first time, she rolled from her back to her tummy. Once she did it, she was into it all day. Check out the video!

Maya is 4 Months!

We can hardly believe our little Miss Maya is 4 months old! She loves sucking on her hands/fingers (or our hands will do if need be), she digs standing on her feet (of course while we are holding her), she has awesome head control (hooray for good tummy time) and she has found her feet. It's the cutest thing to see her chillin in "happy baby" pose. This morning I put her on her tummy and she scooted herself, propelled by her legs, around in a semi circle and found herself facing 180 degrees the other direction. Hello Miss Mover!

I thought we were cruising with some good sleep but of course, right when we think we have it made- it changes. One thing is for sure.....things will always change. She, unfortunately, had to get her shots with her 4 month old check up this week so we are just holding and loving our little girl as she has been a bit cranky from the shots (I would be too!). Last night she was up every two hours and I was reminded of the newborn days that oddly seem long ago yet I can remember them like it was yesterday. Its hard to catch her with her hands holding her feet since when she is doing it, she seems to be in motion. But here are a couple recent pics....
